Expansion of air services in Chhattisgarh

Regular commercial flight services from Bilaspur Airport to Delhi and Kolkata, and from Jagdalpur Airport to Jabalpur (for Delhi connectivity) will commence from the last week of March

An MoU has been signed between the state government and Alliance Air for the flight services in the state

A special initiative, taken by Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai for the development and expansion of air facilities in Chhattisgarh, is showing positive and significant results. An MoU has been signed between the state government and Alliance Air, a flight service provider, to operate regular commercial flights with 70-seater aircraft from Bilaspur Airport to Delhi and Kolkata, as well as the Jagdalpur-Jabalpur-Delhi sector. As per the MoU, these three flights will commence regular operations from the last week of March.

The MOU includes provisions for providing financial assistance by the state government to the airline company for the compensation of flight cost losses based on the ‘Cost Revenue Model’ in case of passenger unavailability in the flights operated under the UDAN Yojana.

It is noteworthy that Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai inaugurated the Alliance Air Company’s “Delhi-Bilaspur-Delhi” and “Kolkata-Bilaspur-Kolkata” flight services on March 12, 2024. On the same day, Alliance Air also launched the inaugural flight of the “Delhi-Jabalpur-Jagdalpur-Jabalpur-Delhi” flight service. As per the schedule of Alliance Air, all three air services will become regular from the last week of March.
