Cargo ship collides causing bridge collapse, rescue efforts begin

It was a disaster of epic proportions that got caught on camera in Baltimore. A Singapore flagged cargo ship ‘Dali’ somehow rammed into one of the pillars of the Francis Scott Key Bridge, thus bringing it down.

The ship with an 22 member Indian crew was headed out of Baltimore to Colombo. It has been said that all 22 crew members are accounted for and none of them have suffered injuries. Also there is no pollution due to this mishap.

There was a construction crew working at the bridge at the time of mishap and thus far, two have been rescued, one has escaped unhurt and another injured. The rest of the construction crew is still to be located.

The bridge crumpled into the Patapsco river within moments and it was caught on cam. There are reports suggesting that the cargo ship appeared to lose power & slam into the support beam of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore, Maryland. The ship was being piloted by a local pilot who specializes in moving in and out of the Port of Baltimore.
